Adding users to Google Analytics allows more than just you as the account owner to access and track your site’s traffic. For example, you may want your managing editor to be able to see your traffic in real-time.
Here are some quick instructions on how to do this:
- Login to your Google Analytics account using the admin account (a.k.a. the email/password you used to set-up your analytics. usually info@).
- Select the Admin button to the lower right in the navigation menu.
- Then you’ll see 3 options. Account, Property, and View
- Select the Property User Management option under your Property option.
- Note – if you want someone to have limited access to only certain data you’ll need to Create View and then add the User under that section to only give them limited viewing options.
- Select + Option in the top right corner.
- Then you’ll see the Add Permissions Screen. Enter the Email Address and keep the box checked to Notify the new user by email.
- Select what type of permissions you want to give the user by selecting the checkbox to the right of the options.
- Then select the Add option at the top right of the screen to add the user and send the email to them.
